Data Deletion Policy

Version 2.0 · Last updated 10 October 2026

Dora Canal Court Inc. holds a small amount of personal information about the people who stay with us. This page explains what we hold and how to have it deleted. For the fuller picture, see our Privacy Policy.

What we hold

  • Booking records — your name, email address, phone number, postal address, the cottage and dates you reserved, your guest count, the names of the other guests staying with you, a phone number for your second guest, your arrival time and any notes you sent us. These are stored in our booking system on our website’s hosting server.
  • A photo of your government-issued ID, if you booked directly with us — and of any overnight visitor you brought who was not named on the reservation. Stored in a directory blocked from public access, used only to verify identity and age.
  • Contact form messages, which reach us by email and are also stored in our website’s database, including messages sent through our previous contact form between September 2023 and August 2026.
  • Payment records — that a payment was made, by what method, and the last few digits of a card. We do not store card numbers. Those are held by our payment providers, Square and Clover.
  • Security camera footage, if an incident during your stay was reviewed.

How to request deletion

Contact us by any of these and tell us you want your data deleted:

Please include the name and email address used for the booking, and the dates of your stay, so we can find the right record.

How quickly we respond

We will acknowledge your request within 5 business days and complete it within 30 days. We will confirm when it is done. If part of a record has to be kept for tax or accounting reasons, we will tell you which part and why rather than simply declining.

Deleting your ID image

You can ask us to delete your ID image — or an overnight visitor’s — at any time once your stay has ended, separately from the rest of your booking record. Just say so when you contact us and we will do it promptly.

If you booked through Airbnb, Vrbo, Booking.com or Expedia

Those platforms hold their own copy of your information under their own policies. Deleting your data with us does not delete it with them, and you will need to make a separate request through the platform you booked on.

Facebook and Instagram

We maintain Facebook and Instagram pages for Dora Canal Court. If you have interacted with us there, Meta holds that information under its own policies and you can manage or delete it through your Meta account settings. We do not run a Meta advertising pixel on this website.
