6 of came 3 different cottages there we had such a great time. We go there often, but first time we came across Dora Canel. Absolutely loved it. Would recommend it to everyone!!!
If you’re looking for a cute, clean and quiet place to stay close to down town Tavares this is it! Stayed in a quaint little cottage a short car ride from Mount Dora Lake – perfect for our daughters beach vball tournament near by. Property manager is great and super easy to work with.
Cozy for 2 people for 2 days. Bed was very comfortable, full refrigerator/freezer and 2 burner glass stove top was nice for cooking breakfast. Everything inside looked new, kit hen sink/faucet, same in the bathroom, and the new vynl flooring was easy on the feet. Quiet neighborhood while we were there. We would definitely stay here again if we ever get back to Tavares. Everything we needed was only a 6 to 7 minute drive, convenient..
Dora Canal Court (Flamingo bungalow) was just what we needed for the weekend at an incredibly reasonable price. The renovations are beautiful. Quiet area while still being close enough to everything we needed. Communications with the owners was always prompt and pleasant. Will absolutely stay here again next year!
Excellent, safe, Very Quiet, lots of activities, plenty of parking for water vessels and cars, Adults only, close to Leesburg Bike Fest, 45 mins from Daytona Bike Week, 1.5 hrs from Walt Disney Resorts and Parks.
This was a very nice trailer, plenty of room for a one bedroom. New floors. Charming decor and furnished. Nice natural setting on the canal close to waters edge. Some traffic noise. And boat traffic. Could use an upgraded kitchen and bathroom vanity. It was very clean. A little pricy.
We had a very very short stay in Tavares while visiting family and the hotel options in the area were meh. They wanted as much as our St. Augustine beachfront hotel for little lake county so I reached out to Erica to see if we could rent a cottage (I might be getting old but I’m not anywhere near the 55+ park age haha). She was so gracious and picked out the perfect bungalow for us – it has all the comforts of home, the BEST bed – omg I slept like a baby – and was absolutely spotless. I’m a hotel snob and super picky about where I’ll sleep and this was better than many hotels I’ve stayed in. The residents were also really welcoming and I got to meet the sweetest floofy pug ♥️ Next time we will stay longer so I can enjoy sitting by the canal at night!
Sweet spot in a convenient quiet location. The recently remodelled cottage we stayed in was cute as a button and space was used extremely efficiently. Well furnished and comfortable. The spiral stairs were a challenge the first couple of uses but were a cinch after a little practice. Rick and Erica were super hosts and most accomodating. A great place to hide away.
I enjoyed my month-long stay at Dora Canal Court Vacation Cottages. My cottage rental was quiet, cozy, and clean. The staff was always kind, friendly, and helpful. I highly recommend!

This is a small, friendly, family-run business that cares about its guests. Their beautifully renovated units are right on the water and digital nomads will love the fast wifi as well as hard-wired internet. I was able to bike everywhere which made my 4-month stay last winter a delight. I highly recommend Dora Canal Court!
